Scatty Hen is a UK poultry-record keeping service. This notice explains the information used to provide the service and the choices available to account holders.

Information we use

Why we use it

We use this information to provide and secure your account, sync your records across devices, calculate reminders and provide the features you request. We do not currently use advertising trackers or sell account data.

Service providers

Scatty Hen uses specialist hosting and database providers, including Supabase and Netlify, to operate the service. These providers may process information on our behalf under their own security and data-processing arrangements.

Storage and retention

Records are kept while your account is active unless you delete individual records or request account deletion. Backup and security copies may persist for a limited period where technically necessary.

Your rights

Depending on UK data-protection law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive a portable copy of your personal data, and to object to some processing. The Settings page provides a data export and a way to request deletion. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your data has been handled improperly.

Cookies and local storage

Scatty Hen uses storage that is necessary for sign-in, security, app preferences, offline/PWA behaviour and notification functionality. No advertising or analytics cookies are currently included.

Push notifications

Notifications are optional. Your browser or device asks for permission before they are enabled. You can disable Scatty Hen push notifications for the current device from Settings, and you can also revoke notification permission in your browser/device settings.

Children

Scatty Hen is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate adult involvement.

Questions or rights requests can be sent using the support contact published on scattyhen.co.uk. A dedicated support/privacy email should be configured before the public launch.

What Scatty Hen provides

Scatty Hen is a record-keeping and reminder tool for poultry keepers. Features may include bird profiles, egg records, weights, care reminders, feed records and animal health/medication notes.

Not veterinary advice

Scatty Hen does not provide veterinary diagnosis or replace professional veterinary advice. Medication doses, treatment periods and egg/meat withdrawal periods must be checked against the medicine instructions and appropriate veterinary guidance. Do not rely on an app reminder for an animal-health emergency.

Your records

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter. You retain ownership of your photos and records. You give Scatty Hen permission to store and process that content only as needed to provide the service.

Availability

We aim to keep Scatty Hen available and reliable, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. Keep any records you are legally required to retain in an appropriate form and use the export feature for your own copy.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, attempt to access another user's data, disrupt the service, upload unlawful material or use Scatty Hen in a way that infringes another person's rights.

Changes and accounts

Features and these terms may change as Scatty Hen develops. Material changes should be communicated appropriately. Accounts may be suspended where necessary for security, abuse prevention or legal compliance.
